Jury Comments: the jury noted the range of beautiful spaces throughout and would love to experience them in person. The project is a highly successful thoughtful transformation demonstrating how architects can use targeted interventions to reimagine places and make them desirable destinations. The presentation was strong and the design ideas were communicated in a compelling manner. The sectional perspective and the lightwell are particularly beautiful with the lightwell as a memorable anchor within the composition.

Jury Comments: the jury unanimously loved the house and appreciated the rigor in the detailing. there is an effective use of a limited pallet of materials - a delicate balance between warmth and emotive dark tones. The submission effectively conveyed the design thought process. The way the upper level's open north end approach steps merge into the podiums roof edge appears effortless.

Jury Comments: the design creates a rich working environment and the jury was impressed with the architect's savvy leveraging of the existing building components. He exposed saw tooth roof structure in the town center space at the heart of the project gets natural light in the center of the office. The integration of building systems throughout was particularly visually clean.

Applications for awards and scholarships through AIA NEPA will be accepted biannually, with the awards dinner held twice a year, while the scholarship itself will be awarded annually, typically in the spring.
