NEPA AIA & The Luzerne Foundation
In 2003 NEPA-AIA established 2 funds in conjunction with The Luzerne Foundation. The Luzerne Foundation (TLF) was established in 1994 as a community foundation to help philanthropy-minded people of Luzerne County leave their mark. As one of 700 such organizations across the U.S., TLF helps donors make meaningful tax deductible contributions to causes they support, now and forever.

The primary fund is the NEPA AIA Chapter of the AIA Scholarship Endowment Fund.

This was established to create an Endowment Fund to provide scholarships to worthy and qualified college students from the 9 counties of Northeastern Pennsylvania who wish to pursue the study of Architecture. Started with $3000, this fund has grown to exceed $10,000.

The second fund is the NEPA AIA Chapter of the Lecture Pass-Through Fund.

This was established to provide funds to underwrite the costs of a guest speaker to address the members of the NEPA Chapter of the AIA, as well as other interested people and organizations, on the subject of Architecture. Started with $500, this fund has grown to exceed $2000.

If in the future a current or past member of NEPA AIA wishes to perpetuate their honor/memory, either through a monetary contribution or a bequest, the Board of Directors of NEPA AIA shall consider renaming the Scholarship Fund or Lecture Fun in his/her honor/memory.
